That Biden Team May Support US TikTok Ban Shifts to Senate Bill

US TikTok Ban Shifts to Senate Bill

As of my knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, there were ongoing discussions and concerns about the possibility of a TikTok ban in various countries, including the United States and India.

In August 2020, the Trump administration issued an executive order that would ban TikTok in the United States, citing concerns about national security and data privacy. However, the ban was later put on hold after TikTok filed a lawsuit against the US government.

In India, TikTok was banned in June 2020 along with 58 other Chinese apps, citing concerns about national security and data privacy as well.

It's worth noting that TikTok has taken steps to address concerns about its data privacy practices, such as partnering with third-party cybersecurity firms and opening a "transparency center" in the United States to allow outside experts to review its source code.

However, the issue of whether or not to ban TikTok continues to be a topic of debate and discussion in various countries.
